Can You Use Vitamin E for Acne Scars?

Acne scars can be a devastating problem for teenagers and young adults. Having the problem of acne is bad enough, but afterwards you are left with scarring that can make you feel insecure and unattractive. If you suffer from this, then chances are you want a solution that works. It is highly possible that you have heard of using Vitamin E for acne scars. So, does it work? Will applying Vitamin E to those acne scars help them to disappear? These are the answers that you are looking for so that you can finally have the clear face that you have been wanting for a while.

The answer is not a simple yes or no. The fact is that there are several degrees of acne scarring that you can have. It is possible to have anything from mild scars to severe scars around your face. The most severe scars leave depressions in your skin and are, of course, the most noticeable. As you might guess, whether or not Vitamin E will work depends greatly on the type and degree of scarring that you are suffering from. It has a better track record working with some acne scars than it does with others.

Using Vitamin E for acne scars that are mild is going to work out much better than using it for scars that are severe in nature. When you have those mild scars then you simply have dried, damaged skin that has taken the place of your healthy skin. Mild acne does not have the depressions that are common with severe cases. Generally, the most severe cases of acne scarring that include skin depressions cannot be treated with Vitamin E. These often require a more professional treatment and it is advised that you seek the services of a dermatologist.

However, if you only have mild acne and you want to begin treatment with Vitamin E then it is important to know how it works. Acne tends to dry out your face. The skin becomes damaged and in some cases remains damaged from the scarring. This is what you want to fix. Vitamin E works by softening your skin again. When it becomes soft then it is possible for the healing that you want to take place. As your skin softens and loosens up, it will begin to regenerate as it should. This leaves you with newer and clearer skin replacing the old scarred skin.

Vitamin E helps to promote healing of your skin. As it begins to regenerate you will notice that your scars begin to clear up. The appearance of those acne scars will start to fade and you will find that you are more pleased with your own appearance. There are no longer remnants of your acne problem that plague you on a daily basis. Your skin is rejuvenated and refreshed. The newer skin that is replacing the damaged skin is healthier and much more visually appealing.

In simple terms, you can use Vitamin E for acne scars. However it is important to note that only milder cases will see the benefit of doing so. Serious cases with severe scarring will not benefit much from the application of Vitamin E. If you feel that your case is too serious for Vitamin E or if you have tried it with no success then you may want to see a physician to discuss other alternatives. If you are planning to try Vitamin E, remember to sample a bit of it inside the elbow first. There are some that have had skin reactions to the oil. That is something you do not want if you are already battling skin problems.
