You may not even need supplements if you are getting plenty of Vitamin E in your regular diet.

Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin as opposed to those that are water soluble. What this means is that the Vitamin E that is taken into the body is absorbed by the fat and then stored in the tissues of the body.   • 0 to 6 months old: 4mg per day
  • 7 to 12 months old: 5mg per day
  • 1 to 3 years old: 6mg per day
  • 4 to 8 years old: 7mg per day
  • 9 to 13 years old: 11mg per day
  • 14 years and older: 15mg per day
  • Pregnant Women: 15mg per day
  • Nursing Women: 19mg per day

While these levels seem small, this is because your body just does not need large amounts of Vitamin E to function. However, having slightly more than the recommended daily allowance will not cause a Vitamin E overdose. You can safely consume as much as 800mg in a day between the ages of 14 and 18 years old and as much as 1000mg if you are 19 or older. These higher levels are not necessary, but they are considered safe and you will not have a problem with overdosing as long as you do not exceed these levels.
